It might be hard to believe that one of the most popular vacation rental destinations in the United States is named after a shrub, but this is indeed the case when you’re talking about Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Around 1900, a guy named F.G. Burroughs thought naming the area after the plant that abundantly grew here would be a good idea. The name stuck, and now Myrtle Beach is the place to go on the southern east coast if you are looking for a good time and a great choice in vacation rental homes or condos.
