Just 98 miles north of Charleston on the coast of South Carolina is Myrtle Beach, one of the top beach destinations in the US. The beach is named after the Myrtle trees that are abundant in the area. Although the peak tourist season is between May and September, the beach attracts visitors year-round. However, the weather is not warm outside of the peak season so don’t bring your bathing suit along unless you are coming during that time.
