The white beaches are further complemented by a 4 mile hiker and cycling trail. Campers will find the Grayton Beach State Park ideal as the park boasts fully-fledged campgrounds.

Fort Lauderdale Beach

Once known as the ideal spring break student rioting location, Fort Lauderdale has strived to repair this reputation. The invasion of college students from the winter north made it a no go zone for families during spring break. Now however, the authorities have proactively moved to monitor the beaches enforcing a strict code while not throwing a wet blanket on the fun.

Caladesi Island State Park

Located at Dunedin, the Caladesi Island State Park is comprised of several Islands each boasting super white beaches. A point to note is that access to the islands is only possible through a private boat or a ferry.

St. Joseph Peninsula State Park

If you consider a visit to the beach the ultimate vacation and have bird watching as your favorite pastime, then look no further than the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. The beachfront runs for just over ten miles. Bird lovers and persons that just appreciate nature will have hard time seeing all the 240 different species of birds at the park. During the breaks from the bird watching, you can engage in snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming, fishing as well as camping.

Honeymoon Island State Park

Perhaps no other beach is more aptly name than Honeymoon Island State Park. The Palm-thatched bungalows are a favorite among newly-weds. The sun-drenched beaches, pine forests and mangrove swamps complete the fascinating scenery.
